New rider
Hi all!
New HD owner and member here. Just took delivery of our first bike. It has been about 5 years in the planning. My wife and I decided about 5 years ago that we wanted to take the new riders course, but I put it off. We were not in a financial position to purchase a bike, and who wants to be able to ride and not be able to purchase one? So with in the few years, we got rid of some debt and a month of so ago, we decided to sign up for the classes. Once that was done, we lined up financing and started to browse craigs list and the internet. Last Saturday we took a trip to the dealership that we will take our classes at and looked around. Found a bike that would met our needs and wants, but it was out of the price range. That Sunday we walked into another dealership close to us and found the perfect bike at the perfect price and signed the paperwork!! 08 Electra Glide Classic!!! Pic below. I have not been on a bile since I was 10 (now 50) and went this am after getting my permit, I mean who wants a bike that you cant ride, right? Went by the dealership and took it for a few laps around the parking lot. Boy was I surprised!!! This was a lot of bike!!! So I made the smart decision and will have my buddy ride it home while I follow him. I will play with it in the driveway between now and the class. Very happy with both my decisions!!!! Our first major road trip with be with a friend and members of his MC to the Tail of the Dragon in Aug, I will need to get a lot of ride time in between now and then!!!

Enjoy the riders course as it is excellent. Pace yourself and ride within your skill set as it is easy to underestimate the curves! Keep the shiny side up congrats on the bike!
