hello from cleveland ohio
rode for most of my life. both street and dirt. thar was before they started the jumps and washboards like they do today. to old to get into that shi*. when the rats started coming I got tired of the ol lady bitchin what if you kill your self what do I do then crap so stopped riding. fast forward 20 years, kids are grown and gone as is the ol lady and I am back. I cant believe how much I had forgotten about riding like the all important leaning. LOL. but loving it.
I looked at a few dressers and tho they ride nice and look sweet decided no. I would have to give rides and I don't like passengers unless they are kids cause they are little and light. looked at a few trikes but didn't like the way they turn and go over curbs. kinda like a go cart. very nice but no.
1200 I liked a lot so decided that was what I was gonna get. plenty of power and only a single seat, so I picked my bike. did some paper work and went home. pick it up in a few days. cool. while home I started looking at the specs of my new 1200 and for some reason compared them to the 883. I think it was because of my dirt racing days.
needless to say I am now the pround owner of a 2017 gold flake green 883 iron. next winter, gotta wait for warrenty to end, I will be converting this bike into a 1200 for about 1200$ for a savings of 10-1200$ and have a bit more take off then the HD 1200. the gearing does make the difference.
so far I have added a wind screen and want to get those soft saddelbags. the only issue I have with the bags is I don't wanna have to get a new double seat so looking into that. if, and its a big if, I decide to hook up again she best be willing if not able to ride her own damn bike.
