I just installed XM. I mounted the antenna up by the vent and it works GREAT. Very happy with it.

Did you have to call/activate your unit? I installed mine about a month+ ago, but no reception in the garage. The other day I fired it up in the driveway to get numbers for activation, and it was already on. Weather too. No idea how this happened or how long it'll last.

Just installed mine yesterday. Mounted my antenna the same. You get approx. 3 months of free trial, after that you have to call and activate it. You need the EIN# from your XM module. You can pull that up on you screen.

I just heard them advertise that all radios are active and usable for a limited time, whether or not they are on a subscription currently.

It's an every-so-often gimme that they do for people with inactive radios lying around.

If I knew that they were going to do this a few weeks ago, I would have put off activating mine until the freebie time was over...sounds like you lucked into it.

All the best,

Shane

Got tired of listening to USB and the FM is just OK so I ordered the module last week from Boardtracker, waiting for delivery. Nice to hear your antenna works good on the outside, have read some threads about reception and going to do the same thing.

I enjoy having unlimited commercial free music while traveling across the country. There is a huge variety of music as well.

What is it exactly that you don't like about satellite radio?
