Average life of brake pads on LTD
What kind of life are you guys seeing on your brake pads? What brand of pads are the best? Or all the same. I know a lot of people just change pads when they change tires. I have 14,000 miles on my tires and they're ready for replacement just trying to find out what's really necessary

There is no average . Depends on how you ride. For me on my RGU the rear is about 20-23000 . I normally replace rear tire in that range and if it comes off the brake pads get replaced. I ride 20-60k a year and it seems I do the front 1-2 times a year.
Wife and I have a trip we make every year. Before that trip Bike gets looked over it the front pads are even close to needing to be replaced they get done before we leave.
I really don't care about getting every last mile out of them. I want them done at home not on the road some where.

Just passed 26k on my 2016 Ultra Classic. Original rears are getting there, but still have 1/16th inch on them. The fronts look like they will go another 5k or more. Keep in mind the minimum thickness per the manual is very small, something like .016". I can't see myself waiting that long. I look at a .016" feeler guage, and that is just incredibly small amount of pad.
Gotta remember too, that the pads don't wear evenly on each side, so you gotta address where the pad is the thinnest.
