Just got back from a trip up into Michigan. On the way home I noticed the front wheel was singing as I leaned into curves. Same sound regardless of the road surface.
Took the wheel off and the bearings would hardly turn by finger.
Called one shop, left voice mail. No return call so went by there this morning to drop off the wheel. Fricken shop was closed up, vacant, out of business. Fricken web page is still up. Emailed him, he responded he had retired in April. Dude, take your web page down then.
Other indy is closed on Friday and Saturday.
Harley shop can't get to it till early July. Yeah, lots of oil changes to do.
I don't have the tool to pull the bearings so I'm down for a few weeks if the other indy can't do it.

 

I change them enough I just got the tool from Ebay. Think it was under 100 bucks. Super easy to use.
Bearings are cheap and you can find them anywhere. I use some I found at Napa. The ABS bearing I get from HD.

If my dealer made me wait weeks to change wheel bearings on a wheel I brought to him I'd be going to another dealer. It's not like there are not a lot of Harley dealers around.
I did like Ip and bought a bearing puller and installer set. $85 for the Pit Posse model on Amazon and it comes with a video tutorial.

 

Just placed my order for the model off ebay. Should be here Tuesday.
