Tumbleweed
So I'm flying down the Penn Tpke on Sunday, coming home from a trip to Dixie. The wind is kicking up pretty strong and all of a sudden a gigantic "tumbleweed" rolls out into the road. This was more like an uprooted bush. At 80 mph what can you do? I hit the thing, it latches on to my bike and raps itself around the front fender and nacelle. Here I am, moving down the road, in camo. It was like a moving bush. No rubbing, no upset at all, I continued on to the next rest area about 20 mi .When I stopped , the bush literally fell off. No problems , but alot of people later told me I dodged a major bullet and someone up there was looking out for me. Ya' think so?
Say the bush had a decent sized limb in it, large enough to get caught between a wheel spoke (don't know if you have open wheels) and the front forks. You would have gone right over the handlebars if the branch was strong enough not to break.
Happened to me on a bicycle once at 20 mph when the brake lever fell off and got caught the same way.
