Which way are you planning on coming up?

I was stationed in Texas twice. Made the road both by cage, and bike a couple times. Just drove down and back for Thanksgiving.

What kind of time line are you looking at? In a rush, or have plenty of time?

we pick up our wives in Buffalo and start moving east and north.
We will keep moving everyday to nova scotia and then start south.
Any input would be great.

if your planning on going through n/w ct you should stop by kents falls in kent ct. well worth the stop, and huosatonic state park and campground is just down the rode. we are in Putnam ct (ne corner,) and try to make the ride out to the falls at least once a season.

Lots of gorgeous places....if you go through Rhode Island, recommend sticking to coastal...off of Route 1...try to get as much of Route 1"A" as possible. It runs parallel with Route 1...weaving in and out, but is closer to actual shoreline.

Maine...tons of good stuff there.
VT and NH...here's where it gets gorgeous.
Around mid-state New Hampshire...make sure you head through Conway, Jackson, and the White Mountains area. Hit Mount Washington...do the climb, it will be an experience you do not forget. You're on top of the world! Literally the most awe inspiring mountainous views east of the Mississippi.

And just 30 minutes south of that..as you follow Rt 16 south a bit, find Kancamangus Highway...travels east/west along some river gorge...but wow it's scenic.

East of Rochester, route 104 to interstate 81. Then route 3 from Watertown NY, through Lake Placid, to a ferry from Fort Ticonderoga, across Lake Champlain, into VT. If you have to time to stop & see stuff, there's a gondola ride to the top of Whiteface Mountain (near Lake Placid) that's kinda cool. A few of us usual suspects took a ride for a couple days up that way, a couple years ago, and there's plenty of room for bike parking at Whiteface, and easy to get to.

The coast of Maine is great, but there are also some nice rides in the mountains, Rangley, Kingfield, Jackman are all nice rides too. Route 1 along the coast is nice, Belfast if its nice out go to Young's Wharf for (lobster) lunch, you sit outside on the wharf over the water. They don't sell alcohol but you are allowed to bring your own.
