Oil change mistake!

Being the filter is horizontal, I find that if I lay the bike on it's right side the oil I put in the filter doesn't leak out when I screw it on. Never fails but hard on the bars and tank.

No, no no, your supposed to put the filter on first, then lay the bike on its side to gravity feed the oil into the filter.
Been doing it like that for years
Leave gas cap on tho, makes a hell of a mess!

So, you mean we need to remove the gas cap from the tank before changing oil?

Goodness gracious, I think you're confusing the poor guy. Hahaha

No, do not remove your gas cap.
What plug did you not pull?
I do not usually fill my filters prior to placing a new one on.
