Default Penn Grade Semi Synthetic vs Mobil 1

Hey Guys, Yeah... I know another oil question. Did a search and really couldn't find my answer(s)....
I've been running Mobil 1 (V-Twin 20W-50 when its on sale, or 15W-50) My brother and his son both run Penn Grade 20W-50 semi synthetic oil in their bikes and they've been trying to talk me into switching over.

My questions being...
1. Does anyone have any experience with Penn Grade oil? Specifically their experience in switching from Mobil 1 to Penn Grade? From what I've read in other threads here, Penn Grade IS a good oil.

2. Is it okay to switch from a full synthetic like the Mobil 1 to a semi-synth without doing doing a complete flush? Just dumping the Mobil 1 and re-fill with the semi?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!

Penn grade is good stuff.
No need to flush.

Stick with Mobile 1 in the 15w50 weight...it carries the latest SN rating and is full synthetic. Mobile1 routinely offers rebates that will lower the price to ~$4/quart...even without the rebate, it's only ~$5/quart at walmart.

Rather than searching for "the best oil", use a "good" oil that is affordable enough in price to make ~2500 miles oil changes something that won't break your bank.

All of these oils are "good" and they all get DIRTY....it is the dirt that wears your engine, not "bad" oil.

Changing often is a far better strategy than "buying the best" oil.

PS> 15w50 Mobile1 is for the engine only; DO NOT use it in the primary of the trans...it will mess up the clutch for sure...for the primary/clutch, use a JASO MA/MA2 certified oil...Mobile1 Racing 4T 10w40 is a good choice.

Thanks guys! Yep... I knew about NOT using the 15w50 in anything BUT the engine. Usually use Redline in Primary and Tranny but I usually only change those every other oil change.
I just got tired of paying $10 a quart x 4 every time I change my oil which is about every 3000-4000 miles or every riding season, whichever comes first.
