What am I missing?

Rip, it`s a `91, the old design with the oil tank on the right hand side under the side cover (with the battery that takes up half the space in the saddlebag ).

FP First poster said I have an 05 glide standard. Then two more seem to have jumped in with a Sporty and a 91....Nothing like a chest game to multi-task confusion

Pretty sure the "FP" found his drain plug after posting 12 years ago. The member with the 91 just joined the "chess game" yesterday.

sorry for the confusion and thanks for the details of where the drain plug is l tried to drain it there no good...l just can not wrap my head around the fact that there is no crankcase drain plug. The saddle bag drain has no oil in it this is where my problem lies...

Default oil

[QUOTE=Dan89FLSTC;19379798]The only place to drain engine oil is from the tank, correct.

There is no drain on the crankcase, the only way to get the oil back to the tank is to run the engine, that will take care of it.

But when the whole tank drains down there, it is more than the scavenge system can deal with sometimes, so you will see oil blowing out the breather hose, don`t panic when you see it puking out...

If the breather hose is still connected to the air filter backing plate, disconnect it from the backing plate and route it down so that it will puke into the pan you put under the bike.

How long has it been since the engine last ran??? Drive it every weekend 30 psi oil pressure cant figure why they put a bag above the engine crankcase. Im guessing l should just top it off till the bag is full and call it a day and l do appreciate the response and advice truly
