PELHAM, N.H. -- A Manchester teenager was hurt after police said his motorcycle crashed into the back of a car in Pelham. Members of the Pelham Police Department and the Pelham Fire Department responded to the accident at 4:22 p.m. Monday. The crash happened on Bridge Street, just north of Gage Hill Road.

Police said Ryan Klement, 18, was riding the motorcycle. Officers said they found Klement lying in the southbound lane of traffic. The Honda CVR 1000 motorcycle was found lying in the northbound lane of traffic. Police said the motorcycle sustained significant damage to its front end. Klement was transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Tuesday morning.

The car was driven by Helen Edwards, 58, of Salem. Witnesses told police Edwards was stopped in the northbound lane of traffic behind a vehicle that was waiting to take a left turn. As Edwards was stopped in traffic, investigators said Klement struck the rear driverside corner of her vehicle. Edwards was taken to Parkland Medical Center where she was treated for personal injury.

Police said they are still investigating the crash. They said Klement may have been speeding. Officers said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
