Default Weston and North Somerset MAG rally - Sept 2010

I dont know anything about this event other than whats contained on their web page. But it's located at Kingston Seymore. M5 Motorway exit 20 for Clevedon and its about three or four miles from there.

It's the weekend of 10th - 12th September 2010.

I hope it may be of interest to some here.

If coming from outside the area and wanting to explore, it would be a good base from which to visit such places as Bath, Bristol, Weston Super Mare, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Chepstow, Tintern Abbey and the Wye Valley (the latter is a very pleasant ride on a nice sunny day).

For those from outside the area who would prefer not to camp (I know my wife refuses point blank to do the camping thing!), there are places very close by which offer overnight accommodation such as The Bridge Inn Lodge, Yatton. Cadbury House Hotel, Yatton (a more expensive option). Or try a search for 'Clevedon Hotels'. I've never stayed at any of these so cant offer a personal recommendation.

I usually do the Bristol Bike Show organised by the MAG in Corn Street. This year it takes place on 21st August.

The Calne Bike show is also a very good day out. It's usually happens around the 3rd week in July.

The wife and I were at the Bristol show the year before last but didnt make it last year. Having attended the Bulldog Bash she was all bike'd out. Unfortunately she isnt as keen as me so I have to compromise and endure trips to the shopping mall as well LOL.

I hadnt heard of the Calne show, so I will look up some details. Thanks.

We did go to a show at the Shepton Mallet showground and personally I found it very disapointing, especially for what they charged to get in.

We've been to a small custom bike show at the Riverside Inn in Cheddar the last three years. I think it was around July August time. Its organised by the National Chopper Club. Its a small show, but an enjoyable day out. However, I cant find any mention of whether it taking place again this year. There isnt actually much mention on the web of it ever having taken place, other than a web page about a custom painter. If you can find a date for it, its worth a visit. An hour or two at the show is probably enough, but its in the pub car park so you can combine it with a drink and or meal and a ride through and around Cheddar is always pleasant.

The Calne Bike Show is on Saturday 24th July. It is organised by the Rotary Club and they close the centre of the town for the day. A lot of clubs set up stands and it´s bigger than the Bristol show. This is the web site:
