I just received my upgraded jiffy stand but haven’t had a chance to install it. It looks fairly straight forward. Did you run into any issues?

Thanks!!!

I will be honest. I looked at it and then thought if I f this up its not going to be good. So I had my dealer install it.

That doesn’t look like it would make much difference, has anyone compared it to a bolt on aftermarket part such as that sold by Hepco Becker?

The difference between the new side stand and the add on pad enlarger is the thickness added. To get the side stand up you already have to lean the bike past vertical. The enlarger pad just adds more length and more lean to retract it. Sure not a lot of difference but in some off camber or uneven surfaces that extra lean could be a problem. In addition any add on is subject to coming or getting knocked off.

Yup… Big *** difference. First cheaper than Hepco. Second does not add any “length” to the kickstand. I had the Hepco on my bike and cursed every time I had to put the stand down or up. Third the extra width makes a big difference.

I rode it yesterday, bunch of narrow tiny one lane county roads, just exploring for about 60 miles.

extend spring and put washers/quarters in between the coils to keep it stretched which will take the tension off during remounting

That tip was a few days late for me. I struggled to get the spring back on. I did not have a lift and was doing with the bike on the center stand. no good angle to pull on the spring.
