Default Connecting Devices Directly to the Battery

I could have sworn I saw a previous post regarding the best path to route wires down the left side of the bike and connect directly to the battery. But for the life of me I can't find it.....
I need to route wires from the handlebars down the left side of the bike to the battery. Does anybody have any suggestions on the best way to route the wires?

Again, sorry if this is a repeat but I couldn't find the info.

Thanks!

Yes. Pop any spare wires into the side pod on the left hand side of the bike. You can open it up a bit without removing it and feed the wiring inside.

Thanks but what do you mean by Pod? So, you don’t have to remove anything (lower cowling, crash bars, etc)?

Thanks!!!

Lower cowling/fairing whatever you want to call it......the plastic part inside the crash bar. You can open it up a bit by removing a few screws (no need to remove it fully) and route wires inside it from the battery. That's what I did for my GPS power and you can't see the wires at all. I also hid the Garmin power brick thing in there.

Default Wiring Solution

Rather than routing wires to the battery you can buy a harness that plugs in directly under the seat mine cost about £27 and I have wired in a innov power hub that allows 5 other devices to then be connected

That is definitely a solution. I presume your harness is plugged into the PAC (Power & Accessory Connector)? I think the PAC is rated for 15A maximum, so you'll just need to be a little careful about the current draw of the other devices plugged into the power hub. It'll be fine for low power devices like GPS, cameras etc but may have an issue with high current things like airhorns, big lights and stuff.

It's a good solution if you don't want to power lots of high current stuff for sure.

I finally got around to taking a look at how I might want to route some wires to the battery. It looks like a pretty tight fit. Is the temporary red wire in this photo similar to how you routed your wires?

Thanks!!!!

I loosened up the screws for the plastic lower fairing and routed my GPS wires inside it at the top and out at the bottom. It hides the wiring completely.

Thank you!!! I loosened all of the screws except for the top two and I didn’t see a way to pry open the lower fairing. I will remove those additional screws to see if I can route the wires a better way. Thanks again!!!!

If you don’t mind me asking where did you get the harness from (a link would be helpful), where did you source your switched power feed from for your Innovv Power Hub (is that part of the wiring harness) and where have you located the Power Hub itself under your seat? Many thanks John.
