any1 change front brake pads ?
Has anyone changed out the front brake pad on their Pan America ?
If so do you need to to remove the whole caliper block from it's mounting first ?
or
Do you just remove the slider pin pull out the old brake pads, spread apart the pistons, and insert new pads and bang in the slider pin ? Does the slider pan get lubricated? And do the OEM brake pads come with new spring, anti-rattle backing plate - if there is one,
paste ?

Square the bars to level Master. Protect paint. Then be sure to suck the brake fluid down near the bottom before pushing back pads. DON'T GO TOO LOW.
Get your new pads at the dealer. They will come with PDF. Or download it at Harley.com maintenance parts
I film the pins with moly black anti-seize. If bent, or worn, replace them..
Now would be time to get you a hand held vacuum pump with bleeder cup if you don't have one. Harbor Freight..
I made my cup from a mason jar for big projects. Suck a few refills out thru caliper bleeder.
Do not bleed a used master with lever or pedal. It's possible if there is some corrosion down at bottom were piston does not normally go, it will destroy master seals when you bottom it using lever.
After all is good, check master by holding firm pressure that normal braking does for 1 minute. Lever should stay firm. Not sink
Go easy till new pads seat with rotors. Now also is time to measure rotor thickness to what is stamped on them. It's not a lot. Mine were at minimum at 3rd pads counting new.
