I’m told by those in the business that they don’t sell well here in Texas. The only CVO I’ve seen here in person so far is available for MSRP.

If my dealer ever even offered for sale a motorcycle priced above sticker, I would never do business with them again. To say that is a shady business practice is to put it mildly.

I DO love Capitalism. But it amazes me how much somebody will pay for such a quickly depreciating asset. I'm still butt hurt that I paid $22K for my 2022 PAS Enthusiast Edition, only to see low mile bikes like it for as little as $12K. I love my bikes and I either paid cash for them or paid them off in 12 months. But using Capitalism as an excuse to clearly slide it deep up the consumer's *** bothers me just a little bit.

Nobody can take advantage of you without your permission. You always have the ability to say "no".

So if a dealer's asking $36,000 for a bike that has an MSRP of $28,300, you can just say no. Nobody gets hurt. Nobody's robbed. Nobody slipped anything up anyone. No injustice or outrage takes place. You just say no. You can even laugh while you say no. If it sits on the dealer's floor unsold for a few years, they'll lower the price. That's how markets work.

Exactly. The customer is the only one who sets the actual price that the transaction will take place at, because the customer can just say no and walk away. It doesn't matter a rat's *** what price the dealer puts on a bike, it only matters what the customer will pay. If the dealer is willing to sell it for a price that the customer is willing to pay, then a transaction happens. If not, then it doesn't. Nothing nefarious or shady about someone asking a price they think they can get. That's their gamble, and they can ask, but in the end they will get what they get, regardless of what they ask for.

Wrong. Markets decide prices at the intersection between supply and demand. Neither buyers nor sellers have control over the market value.

If you think there's nothing shady about praying on people's lack of information about what that market value is, I think you're shady, too. Praying on stupid people is as shady as it comes.

It's preying.....However you may pray for the stupid ones, it probably won't do much good.

They can ask anything they want, but will it sell? For me they could reduce it by 20K and I still would not buy it.
