Big bear ohlins cartridges and rear shock review
Well...
On the path of building my street version or modern club bike out here in socal.
I just got big bear front and rear suspension.
1. It gets rid of ARH
2. It raised the bike and 1" or so front and rear
3. No more ride modes that change suspension settings
4. Still can turn off traction control to get full power out of bike.
5. Permanent shock symbol on screen now that ARH no longer functions
Bike is tuned by fuel moto so its producing around 170 crank hp and with speed limiter gone its gearing gets to around 160's mph
Anything over 100 the bike was wallowing around, horrible fork dive on decel and truthfully very sketcy at best in 90 mph sweepers and such. 80+ and below suspension seemed ok at best.
So hit up Kevin at big bear and got there 32mm front cartridges with #12 springs and the ohlins rear shock.
I'm 6'4 270lbs so I needed a very strong set up since I'm a moose and want to fling this bike around like it's an old man's sport bike..lol
Bike is killer now. Handles on rails. No brake dive, no wallowing, set a sweeper at 110mph and it is on rails.
Hit 155pmh yesterday.
Bike is truly exeptional to ride fast and hard. Was chasing sport bike guys up and down the mountain and they couldn't believe a harley was capable of such street manners for canyon riding.
Next up is the new top tree and 16" tbars with power vision mount that will be mounted to tbars like a tachometer.
I have a buddy making me mounts for leather pros saddle bags and I have and fxr tour pack that will go on pan america rack for a "sport touring" look that fxrp or fxrt's used to have. Plus it's much needed back support for the misses and kids as they need it since bike pulls like a freight train.
Couple pics before bike goes in next week on handle bar and top tree swap.
You can see the center stand , the rear tire is now touching the ground as the bike is well taller.
