Original holes were 055 in diameter with a low flow type oil pump that is a 70 plus year oil design 1000s still have the original oil pump - we convert back in a resto

you-now have a full line evo style pressure oil pump with hi volume that will not if flood the top end - you might want to install the -68 alloy oil pump first design spring to cut it back some

and yes the lines are way over the top too big - should be the size of the S&S drip hose on the bowl

Do the lines have a restrictors in them? The braided line set I run on my shovel has restrictors built in to reduce the flow, decreases it to I believe 1/8.

Damn you could do a complete blood tansfusion with those lines. Here's a pic of what the stock lines look lik for the outside oilers. I think I have an extra line in my stash. I can take a pic to show how small the lines are (inside diameter)

And no the lines do not have restictors in them

Not sure what i was thinking had the old stuff brass lines on shovel. Saw this fitting on line and with extra spot for oil pressure and went with it and 6AN ptfe lines. Should have put more thought into what i was doing just kept thinking all the oil lines were 3/8th.

Looks like 1/8 OD tubing to me. That's what I'd use and skip the braided hose entirely. Use polished stainless tube if you want bling.

And the most critical component in my opinion is the adjuster screw.

+1 on losing the braided lines. Had one split and leak on a Shovel. Oil all over rear shock and saddlebag.

After market heads with vertical oil intake ports - 63 / 65 OEM the screw restricts the poor oil flow even more as they did not have valve seals the - pan copy’s are also end oilers because they use the evo oil pump unlike the original side oil engine that cut oil pressure to the lower unit even more - to help the top BUT they did support hyd lifters SO - you dont need that much oil pressure or volume

it may or it may not mark its spot at every location its Parked some do and actually some dont - its the location of the blocks scraper to flywheel distance thats in play - mass production issues just like the original blocks some did and some did not
