Default A Little Maintenance.

Replacing engine main shaft seal. It is a 1964. So. It has a screw in seal. No big deal. Transmission main shaft oil seal. Do not have the 'special HD tool' for that. So. Will have to go old school. Will try and post before and after pics. Old Iron.

Ok. I only have one pic. Half way pic. Replacing tranny spacer with one of saddlebagrail's spacer with the o-ring. Using Belt Drive Super Nut with Seal for sprocket nut. Maybe over kill. But. I thought while I am in there cover all bases. Any suggestions before I button it up? Waiting for clutch hub liner. Yeah. I know. It is ugly. She is a rider. Not a show queen.

Good question. I need to dig it out and put it on. I quit jumping curbs long ago. Ya never know. Could very well save cases. MOCO put em on for a reason.

I see some serious oil tank and battery tray mods to fit that starter. I would like to see the other side as well.

That is a Russ Peterson Right Side Electric Start. RSES. That I am sure that you all are familiar with.

Nothing ever goes like it should. I bought the Super Duper Belt Drive Super Nut with Seal for CS sprocket. Well. It is too damn thick. Clutch hub bottoms out on it before it is tight on shaft.. Theory for it is good. But. Not if it don't frigging work.

Russ put a lot of thought into engineering the RSES. Notice how the "ribs" line up with the cam cover. It can be removed and all original parts reinstalled. No mods are needed to install the RSES. I had a major malfunction. Russ sent a whole new version of the system at no charge. I am not a "paid spokes person". Just a satisfied customer.
