I'm just wondering if anyone knows how far back can you get factory painted tins from HD. My buddy laid down his 98 springer softail and it will need a new left side tank. I can't find any parts in his paint scheme. Is it time to find a custom painter? If so would anyone know where to get the harley graphic for the tank?

 

H_D no longer supplies that tank ( 61426-97 ) even in primer, so forget about ordering one painted.

The interwebs…eBay, OfferUp, Craigslist, local and national, other sites out there too…a tank is out there.

 

Yea. I did some googling the other day. Was hoping to find that paint some one was parting out. Some nice tanks out there but the wrong colors. I'll have to look for a not so nice tank or see what it would take to fix that one.

 

Unless a part is still being used on newer bikes HD is done with you after 10 years Or so.
