Exclamation Blood in stool and mum's birthday

Today I got a bit of bad news, there was blood in all 3 of my stool samples for bowel cancer screening tests. Have been referred for a colonoscopy - asking for prayers that it isn't found to be the dreaded bowel cancer.
Also asking for prayers for my deceased mother - it would have been her 83rd birthday today.

So, you were positive on the Cologuard poop stick? That could just be a bleeding polyp. I tested positive a few years ago and that was what it was, just a large polyp, benign. Let's hope your diagnosis is the same. I have a routine follow up colonoscopy scheduled this Thursday, it's my third in six years. After finding polyps, they put me on a three year follow up schedule.

Hoping for the best outcome! A colonosopy with a tissue sample to test is more accurate. As John said, could be a bleeding polyp. Hopefully it is as simple as that.

Did you have any pain? I have a dull ache in my lower right abdomen. I was diagnosed with diverticulits after a scan a few years ago - I hope its just that.

No pain at all, but occasional blood in my stool and toilet paper sometimes. The polyp they took out was 25mm, like pinky sized. But, thankfully harmless. Have not had any issues since then, but it's real important to keep up with what the doctors tell you as far as routine maintenance.

Just had my triannual colonoscopy. They found and removed 15 small sessile polyps. Good news, they're all gone. Bad news, now I'm on a biannual schedule. I'm hoping they come out with a beer flavored purging liquid by 2027.

Get your colon scoped, it could save your life.

I was on that schedule for years...I believe the doctor purposely left one small one to harvest next time.

Beats colon cancer . After 75, they figure something else is going to get you.

However I plan on living to a 100 (Some will love that on here) ..

And I sure don't want to die from colon cancer.

If I am still on two and healthy, I plan on getting one more in 4 years.

Or at least even if I have to pay for it swallow the camera pill.

My sister did that not long ago. They justified it do to underlying other issues.

One would think that would cost Medicare less then a colonoscopy.

This reply is late but I just noticed that there is a prayer forum here in hdf.
How did the scope go? Are you ok? Stay positive with Jesus. He will not leave nor forsake us.
I raise clackavosticus up to you Lord. Amen... and guard his hurting heart for his mother. No one will ever love you like your mother. I raise her up to you too. Amen

PS. I'm glad they can do the regular preliminary now with a poop stick instead of the rocket fuel. Blessings
