Default Aftermarket clutch plates

Fellows,
I ride a 2009 heritage classic with 10k miles. I have only put the last 400 on it myself. The bike is hard on the shift going into first and all the way up. Everything else seems fine. Wanted to know if any of you have replaced OEM clutch plates with a kevlar or carbon fiber set and if so did that make any difference in hard shifting for your bike?

Also, was running synthetic 20/50 in primary but went to reg 10/40 oil about 50 miles ago. Still shifts hard

Thanks

Have you done a full clutch adjustment yet? What are you running in tranny for fluid?

Yes I have done full clutch adjustment. At the moment 85w-140 gear oil in the tranny. It had Mobil1 20w 50

When you say "hard on the shift" do you mean it's physically hard to move the shift lever foot control?

Hey Mark, maybe just a bit stiff but I don't have to stand on it to shift.

Kaycee, I took the primary cover off and inspected everything inside. Not the derby the whole outer primary. The chain tensioner did look a bit loose. I went ahead and pulled the entire clutch basket and inspected all the plates, bearings, etc. I don't see anything on or in the clutch basket that looks out of the ordinary.

Before I put it all back in I was wanting to get some feedback from anyone who has used kevlar or carbon fiber plates. I plan on swapping the plates out before I put it back in just don't know if it would be worth getting aftermarket vs. OEM.

Thanks
