Default Gasket question

I'm installing a new clutch cable and I'm not sure if I should put gasket dressing on the clutch release cover gasket. Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks

No dressing needed. Just how you receive the gasket right out of the package is fine.

Well if its the new foam coverd steel gaskets nothings required. If its an old paper gasket then dressing or silicon should be used.

On paper gaskets I use Hylomar, mostly because it makes it easy to remove the gasket on disassembly.
