Default bullet proof tc 5/6 speed tranny

Hello I have a question that doesn't seem to get talked about much , so 1st. Of I have 05 flh with plenty of mods working towards a 130 hp/tq motor. So how do you keep your tranny from detonating , besides just throwing in a baker set , 2500 seems like a lot for a tranny gear set are there alternative s like Andrews or jims. That make individual gears/ forks bearings an so on . Need options an advice. How much can a stock tranny take. What final drive ratio. Who's gears will last the test of time. And ya do you really need 6 speeds , or will 5 do . I know this will open up a whole can of beans but bring it on léts discuss the posibilities of it all. Thanks to all who respond.

I'm no expert but it seems to me as long as you're not doing burnouts, wheelies and the like, the 5 speed will hold up just fine. I'm sure you'll get a load of opposite opinions to this, though.

Trouble finding neutral could be as simple as a clutch adjustment. You want at least .080 of throw you can measure that off your pressure plate.

Stock 5 speed should be able to handle 130.

Irish, I'm not saying you have to baby it, but rolling WOT instead of just hammering it from a dead stop. While I'm not a ride as if on fire kinda guy, I certainly don't baby my bike. YRMV.

You sure can, don't worry about riding the line a stock 5 speed gear set should be able to handle over 130.

So Mark, as you can see what I am running in my sig. Can you explain what the n1 shifter drum and shifter prawl does and do I need them? I assume my weakest link is the 1 1/2" drive belt?

Thanks!!

N1 shift system simply puts neutral all the way on the bottom the 1-5 are all up shifts. More of a preference then a need.
