Okay I have a '12 Ultra. Was out with friends the other night, had a couple beers. We get on our bikes I start out and hear what I can best recall a rattling sound coming from the primary. The road leaving the bar was on the steep side, clutch was not slipping at all. The rattling noise only lasted for a short time.
I have not been able to reproduce the noise since. I've ruled out the marbles in my head already. Any ideas?

 

Pull the cover and have a look. Could be a compensator on it's way out.

 

That would be strange, but who knows. It was replaced last spring.

 

All the more reason to look, but first you may want to check everything outside, shifter levers and linkage. Once inside check comp nut and auto-chain tensioner.

 

No doubt, I will check it out or take it back to HD and have them inspect it. Thanks guys.
