Default Primary noise?

Hello I've had a noise coming from my primary ever since I purchased bike..not sure if they all do this or not..defiantly sounds like a chain noise..oly notice when stopped at a light..actually totally goes away if my foot has any pressure on the shifter...is this normal?? 07 roadking with @18k..thanks

That doesn't sound like a primary problem sounds more like a tranny problem. Might wanna try to adjust your linkage.

Is the noise your linkage rattling? The shift shaft pivot in the primary (where your foot shift lever is bolted to) rattles because some idiot engineer thought a bushing would be good enough at this pivot point. The bushing wears out and the shaft rattles in the bore. Putting light pressure on the shifter stops the shaft from rattling and stops the noise. Is there a lot of slop in the shaft your foot shifters are bolted to?

Mine rattled right before it broke off. Check the pivot point on the linkage.
