Default Is a 22 tooth comp sprocket to small

Working on a 1975 FXE
I've changed from a 24 tooth to a 22 tooth sprocket at the crankshaft and the old chain is shot so went with a Diamond 82 link, problem is the Hayden M6 tensioner that I was using doesn't have enough adjustment to take the slack out now. Is the 22 tooth sprocket so small that the M6 can't take up the slack? 24 tooth with worn chain and the Hayden M6 was working but wanted to lower the gear ratio, was struggling to take off but plenty of top end it would do 95mph easy.
Any ideas what to consider are appreciated.

Yea there is no chain fitment for a 22 tooth with a 37 tooth clutch sprocket. 82 is too long and the 80 is too short.

Thanks for the input, any work around or am I stuck with a 23 or 24 tooth engine sprocket. Thought about modifying the chain tensioner in some way to take up the slack.

I installed a 21T on my Dyna, H-D used to make a SE comp/chain kit. Really woke that bike up! So that is another possibility.

Talking

I believe the 21T kit was used to promote a Dyna 'street' class of drag racing early in the TC88 days? In any event it did wonders for my FXDXT. And what's a tooth between friends?!

Talked to a guy at Baker and he said there's nothing available for the shovel, back to the drawing board...

Red face

Rats! The shovel comp is similar in design to the later bikes, although I've never seen them together at the same time.

Might be able to compare at my local HD dealer, mine vs the newer Dynas.
