Hey guys, so I’m new to this thread stuff so I figured I’d reach out and see if anyone has any info for me. So my street bob top end is making a ticking noise. Almost like a lifter tick but doesn’t sound like the rocker box bolt rattling!?? My other issue with the bike is when I’m cruising at a steady speed and rpm no matter what gear the bike lugs back and forth but not the clutch slipping but the rpms don’t raise so the clutch isn’t slipping. Anyone have a idea what’s up with it?

 

Quit lugging it and get those rpms up. Your compensator is probably shot.

 

The compensator was one of my thoughts. Any clue on my top end noise?

 

Stop lugging and check primary belt tension...i know its supposed to have an tensioner but its worth a look. Top end noise, when did it start, has it always been there? Has it recently gotten worse? Does it go away after running for a few minutes? It could be a lifter, theres a product a sponsor on here sells that cures some of the top end clatter depending on your cause...i dont want to say the wrong name of it lol but John usually watches the board and he'll clue you in on that. But give some more info about the top end noise, and pull your primary cover and take a look

 

I think what Screamin beagle is referring to are rocker lockers. DK Customs has them.
