Default Clutch ????

Hey guys, just picked up a 2013 Street Bob; Black, Beautiful and Fast. Anyways, I'm loving the bike, put about 150 miles on it day one. I did notice today that the clutch might need adjusting. When in gear, with the clutch engaged, it is a little difficult to maneuver. And, I notice a little jump when started in gear with the clutch engaged. Are both of these normal, or should the clutch be adjusted to feel ZERO gear, at all, when engaged? Thanks guys.

Also, I removed the reflectors today... I know someone will suggest that.

And, I want to throw some lowering blocks on the back, how low can I go? 2"? 3"? I still want a decent ride, but I want the *** slammed. And, if I do this what tools will I need? A torq wrench and the right wrench heads? Or more?

I honestly don't know if it's normal or not, but my bike is NOT as easy to maneuver with the clutch pulled in as it is when it's in neutral.

I too would be interested to hear if this is normal.

Thanks. Could be fine. Most people start up and maneuver in N... I come from a dirtbike background where the clutch engaged feels the same as N...

There should be no jump when clutch is engaged.

The "jump" you mentioned is normal when the bike is cold. Try starting in neutral, while holding the clutch lever in.

Your bike sounds perfectly normal. If you mean moving the bike engine off in gear with the clutch pulled in yes there will be resistance. Even though the clutch is pulled your still turning the tranny, hey it's in gear. You should always start your bike in neutral. for that same reason.

Engine running and you feel a clunk when you put it in gear? Same reason you have just engaged the transmission.

Both perfectly normal, It's a Harley thing. Don't go adjusting your clutch for those reasons.

you shouldn't need special tools to change shocks or add lowering blocks but I wouldn't lower a bike that way more than an inch, your back will nag you for that.

Congratulations on the new ride however, welcome to the family.
