I was once told the old Primary Fluid Harley sold before the Formula plus was a straight 30 weight. I've been using Walmarts Super Tech 30 with good results.

Harley Formula+ is perfectly adequate for the primary.

ANY new off the shelf name brand lubricants are better than years old/high mileage lubricants that are currently in the bike.

I tried them all over the years & have found that Formula+ actually worked the best.
