Default Harley Reverse Gear

Hi All, I am looking for some advice please? I know there are several companies making reverse gear systems out there. After some research I have come to the conclusion that the mechanical systems are a better bet rather than the electrical ones.? (They seem more robust to me?) I have a 2015 FLHR Classic, it's heavy and I'm getting older and there is a slope down to my garage and a slope up to actually going in to the garage, so I'm pushing the bike one way or another whether I ride forward into it or push it backwards into it. Getting a reverse kit is cheaper than moving house!
I should say that I am in the UK, so I want to make a considered, informed decision as the shipping and customs charges could make it an expensive mistake!

Anyone out there had experience of these kits? I have looked online at Eaglewing (MMD), Champion, Motortrike etc. etc.

Mechanical is definitely the best choice. Less chance of failure.

hummmm????
maybe common sense????
way back when my cousin had on old model t that you had to hand crank and he lived on a hill. he threw a newspaper early in the morning so the night before he would back the car up the hill and in the morning, just let her roll down the hill using the momentum to start the car.

Could you get a bike jack? Ride into the garage, Jack the bike up, spin it 180, and set it back down. Seems like a less expensive alternative.

bustert. Can't really see how any of that is relevant. If you read my post I said that there is a slope down towards my garage and a slope up to actually get into it. So, either way the bike is facing it has to be pushed.

No room to spin the bike round I'm afraid and you would need a smooth garage floor which mine isn't but thanks anyway.

The MMD (Marvin Macdavi Design) isn't available in Europe or maybe eBay?

Funnily enough, I made an inquiry on the Eurowing MMD website earlier and he rang me up! (WhatsApp call so free!)

What a nice and very helpful guy he is. We were chatting like old mates for nearly an hour and it sounds like I will be buying a MMD kit. No pushy hard sell, just a pleasant guy who knows his stuff and is very enthusiastic and proud of it.
I was sold.
Happy to buy American……..again!

just saying, find a spot that works
not knocking a reverse gear
my friend had an old pan with a service car tranny. he was a cowboy and had a huge horse mounted on the front fender and it had floor boards so it was a bear to move even riding forward, do not see how he did it in the parades.
often time he was asked about it and his response was always " you have to be awful selective when drunk"
tank shift with mouse trap.
preemptive not reactive all i am saying.

So, you are saying he needs to excavate his driveway so he will have a spot that works?

Here`s an idea: go back and actually read the original post.
