Default Primary oil install

Hey I just pulled the primary cover(Derby) and some fluid (Red Trans like) What oil? and Its been a while since I had a closed primary...Where do you put the oil in??? I know the engine oil and the trans but the Primary?

You can put it in through the Primary Chain adjuster inspection cover if your bike has one which '07's and '08's don't, or through the Derby cover on those bikes. The link I have attached below has some good videos for a lotofthe normal maintenance stuff you can do.

Sometime down the road I'm going to drill and tap the inner primary and add a fill hole. This is trullya retarded design . If the clutch needs adjusting I'll take the derby off. If the chain adjuster needs attention I'll pull the outer cover. Change the oil, give me a normal fill plug on the top. Wouldn't that be revolutionary?

So Mine is a 92 your saying crack that Primary cover(Durby) and poor in How would I know when its enough???

This won't provide help for '07 and later owners, but if you have an earlier bike it might be what you're looking for. A bit pricey, though, at $100.

Did you look at the videos in the link I posted for you? It tells you to put in 32 oz I believe. It may take slightly more. You should try getting the HD service manual for your bike.
