Primary noise w/o helmet

Primary noise w/o helmet
Went for a ride tonight w/o my helmet and could hear my primary spinning away...sounds like a chain spinning when you pull in the clutch and rev the engine. Is this normal? Since I usually wear ear plugs and a helmet I never hear it. Wondering if my 2006 inner primary bearing is failing?

sounds like a chain tensioner noise.Do you have an automatic adjuster or is it the manual one?
If its the manual adjuster i would loosen it off a knotch and go for a ride without your plugs.
If its the auto adjust it might still be tight however there is no way to loosen it off and it stay at that spot.

i recently had to change my final drive belt.Went for a scoot and heard this whirring sound.I read some threads and figured i probably had thetensioner to snug.Loosened it off a bit and went for another toot and it was gone.It sounds to melike the automatictensioner might be keeping the chain tight enough to make the whirring as it slides over the tensioner block.

Yeah it sounds like I'm riding a Waring blender. But the compensator can do the same thing if it is inching out and touching the inside of the case....which will allow it flex axially and cause the vibration I am getting in my footpegs. My guess is the compensator nut is loose or the compensator is trashed. Too bad as Sunday is supposed to be low 60's and sunny. [:@]
