Default Compensator Nut

Just got done paying 400.00 to have my rotor (?) replaced after my compensator nut came loose and tore out the splines. I had a chrome inner primary put on my bike many many miles ago (now at 31k) probably at 5k. What cause's the nut to come loose? It's not a maintenance thing you can really check at certain intervals. Any thoughts, thanks in advance

I am having the same problems. Last time I had the best luck with red locktight but the shop doesn t like using that stuff but that is the only thing i have found that works. Let it dry before adding oil.

The biggest problem is not cleaning the threads on the nut and the shaft before using the reg locktite on it. Once this is done and the proper procedure is used, the comp nut shouldn't come loose.
