Default 1971 xlch clutch

Well man,it was slipping bad so I went to adjust the clutch via the cable and manual.No luck.Can't even get it to work at the lever.Sprins shot??Plates shot??/ I'm going in.I think it was adjusted as far as it would go a long time ago.Might need new stuff.Anything I should look for??

I feel your pain... I used to have a '71 XLCH way back when..

OMG it has been a long time since I've opened the cases 25+ years. Truth be told I hated my sportster, it broke down on every trip that was more than 200 miles. That could be why I sold it and bought a Cessna.

Fast fwd to my next Harley a '91 FXR and every Harley I've owned since... Mostly trouble free...

Just common sense and a manual....
