Default Clutch Won't Engage

Hey guys,

Need some help here before I set my first ever bike ablaze....2000 Heritage Softail Classic...replaced stator. Now that it's all back together, the bike will shift out of nuetral into first but will not move. In other words, pull the clutch lever on the handle in, shift into first from nuetral, and release the clutch slowly while giving it some gas....and the bike doesn't move. I would really really appreaciate any suggestions or ideas.

Thanks in advance.

I am thinking one of the ***** for the clutch ramp is out of place. It's the cover where the clutch cable goes in.

If you mean the ball bearing, I say no because you would need to remove that sde cover and remove the circlip that hlds the ramps in place. I doubt the OP removd that cover to do a stator.

Do another clutch adjustment by the book. Collapse the cable, pull lever in, then set clutch with 1/2-1 turn out. Make sure it doesn' change whie you tighten the locknut.

When you say collapse the cable, are you saying pull the clutch lever handle wuth the adjuster screw is, then loosen the lock nut, then turn the adjuster screw 1 to 1 1/2 turns back or loosen, tighten the lock nut back down making sure that the screw doesnt move when i tighten the lock nut?
