Default DOT Daytona Carbon Helmet

The Daytona Carbon fiber helmet just arrived after I ordered it well over a month ago.....and it's a big disapointment. I figured I'd try it out as an alternative to the carbonfiberhelmets.com DOT version which also claims itself the worlds smallest DOT helmet.

For starters, this helmet is about the same size as my DOT Harley Davidson helmet . Both helmets are XL and both have about 1 inch of protective foam. In fact, the profile of the Daytona Helmet 1/2" wider at the base then the Harey helmet and its shorter yet rounder profile exagerates the mushroom look. So much for the worlds smallest DOT helmet. If is matters to you, these helmets are made in India.

So I bit the bullet and wasted about $110. I'll be placing my order with carbonfiberhelmets.com shortly. You live and learn I suppose!

Harley Helmet, Daytona Carbon DOT helmet, Davida Classic (non DOT)

This is the helment I prefer over the other carbon fiber helmets. I rate this one a 9 out of 10. It is small and light.

Those recalls are a little old. 2003-2004 I think.

I've been on the fence about ordering one, I'd like to try one on first.

The shops that they list on the website don't have them. I talked to a couple and Nexl was
real bad on filling the orders and slow to deliver.

Anybody have a good experience with Nexl?

those recalls are old. They recalled mine for this several years ago. The nexl helmets are very light and fit nicely. Mines about 6 or 7 years old now and I bought a carbonfiber.com DOT to replace it because I couldn't get another nexl. Everyone was out of stock. I'm hard pressed to tell which one I like better. I had a hard time getting the nexl even back then, don't know if they still have problems with supply. If I could get one easily enough I'd definately buy another. But I feel the same about the carbonfiber.com helmet. Side by side the carbonfiber is smaller and lighter with a smaller profile. The carbonfiber is cooler. The nexl fits my narrow head perfectly. I did a lot of fitting with the inserts to get the carbonfiber to fit just right. They did offer to reshape it for me but once I learned the trick on adjusting the straps it's fine. At first the carbonfiber had problems with wind trying to lift it off. I'm looking at getting my second carbonfiber now since no one seems to want to sell me a nexl. But I would definately spend the money for either one without hesitation.

Okie

Do NOT do business with NEXL
They stole my money.
I paid for a new helmet 4 months ago and I have nothing. They wont even respond to
numberous POLITE voice messages and e-mails for the last 3 months.

In my mind this makes them theives.

Default Do you like your davida classic helmet?

Please let me know as I''m thinking about buying one, it looks great and seems prettty comfy-just need to add some extra padding so its snug.
