HELP!!!
Well, tonight I had a disaster. Trying to teach my bro a little bit about bikes. I wanted to teach him how to work the throttle and he ended up taking off on me and dinging up the bike pretty good. Dent in the gas tank, front fender and a nice gash out of the forks. I also noticed my front tire is bent (or I believe it is). I have a 92 Sportster 883. I was wondering if anyone knows if they make a triple tree that has a wider side to it that may cover up the gash out of fork (the gash is right below it). I wanted to get a bigger gas tank anyways, but not this way. I believe the front fender will be alright if sanded down right. Also, if anyone knows of a place to get some nice rims/tires for a decent price or knows anyone that is looking at getting rid of some. If anyone can post ebay postings that may help me out on here, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I dont believe the bike will get out the rest of the summer because I dont think the check book can afford to repair it all. Thanks a lot. Trust me, this was a lesson well learned with not letting ANYONE ride my bike. Not even blood.

Duse - IMHO, don't worry bout the small stuff, just get the wheel repaired/replaced and make sure the forks are good to go (might have tweaked them a little and need to be adjusted). Bend back the fender so nothing rubs. Basically make sure it's safe, but don't let a few cosmetic things keep you from riding. A guy over here dropped his bike right after he had it painted - he said screw it - did a killer engine build and to this day he has a dinged up tank. Remember "chicks dig scars"!!
