Hey riders,

I'm heading out to Fairfax, VA from Chicago. Planning on a 2 day ride and looking to make best use of the journey. Should I stay on highway part of the way (maybe not much scenery) to make up time if so which part?

Any areas rays of interest (not to get off the bike to explore but more to enjoy sights) on the way?

No offense intended to members in the plains, but if it were me, I'd burn across Indiana and Ohio and then hit the backroads when you get to West Virginia. There isn't a straight road in WV. They are almost all great riding through the mountains. One that is pretty direct, but still good riding is US 50 from Grafton to Winchester.

when I ride from Annapolis to NE ohio about once a month. I take 70 to 68 followed by some back roads.

68 is really pretty, lots of hills and curves and a few scenic pull off.


maybe take 68 to 81 to 66?
