Any advice for Americade?
My wife and I are planning to attend Americade in Lake George, NY in June. We are staying at Scotty's Cabins on the lake. I have done a lot of searching on here, but was wondering if anyone recommends any must do rides or great restaurants/bars. My only other experience with a big rally is Laconia a few years back. I realize its not the same Harley crowd. We have also attended Ohio Bike Week and Roar on the Shore in Erie, Pa but I guess those wouldn't be considered big rallies.

The Rain Tree restaurant is a good one. It's on Rt 9N (the west side of the lake) just a mile or so from downtown LG.
A good ride would be to head up to Lake Placed for lunch. Nice back roads ride. You can also take a ride up into Vermont. Just be careful when going thru all the small towns. The local gendarmes know it's Americade week and have their ticket books ready to go, and not just for speeding.
There are some planned rides for the rally but I've never gone on one. I'm not really into large group rides with strangers.
You can also take a ride around the lake. It's 40 miles long so it makes a nice ride. Killington Vermont is only 68 miles away. Lake Champlain is not far and the new bridge will take you into Vermont.
Head north to Ausable Chasm. (Google it)
Pick up a local map and just pick a road and ride, there's not a bad one to be had.
If you really want to do some riding, Montreal is only 160 miles up the road. Take a ride up for lunch. (you need a passport, it IS a foreign country)

I’ve done Americade a few times and it’s ok but honestly the area is a lot nicer either the week before or after. The restaurants are easier to get into and the roads aren’t as congested.
This isnt a laconia or Daytona type rally, it’s very sedate so you won’t miss anything by avoiding the crowd.
The Log Jam is definitely the best restaurant there. Warren’s burg has been developing a nice vendor area to compete with the Tour Expo.
The roads are all great. A stop in Placid and a ride through the lakes on 3, 30,and 28 is always great. A loop of the lake, Champlain, Fort Ticonderoga and a ferry to Vermont....you can’t go wrong - it’s all beautiful!

Americade
Lotsa good rides in NY & Vt, all the Vt Gaps, Smugglers Notch up north, Rt 100 in Vt. too many rides to list.
Vermont has 100 covered bridges, the ferry to Burlington is closed during the Cade wk, ck the schedule.
The Lone Bull restaurant on 9N is the "BEST" breakfast spot around..also the PM Diner is good too.
Lotsa changes this yr in the Expo, 2 day block "free" block party in town, we've been doing the Cade for 16 yrs & never get tired of riding the area..
Don't ride around W/O a DOT helmet the Deputies w/ get ya..
Buy the parking pass aka "PP" parking pass $15 for the wk, cheaper than the tickets..
