That's why the tours are done with 4 wheel drive jeeps. The roads in the park are like the above poster said - terrible. they will allow you to drive your car through for a fee but the roads are so bad most turn back, after a mile or so you don't see any more cars. We drove the roads, dirt, deep dirt, dried out river beds - our driver was amazing with the 4 wheel drive - I have a whole new appreciation for what 4 wheel drive and jeeps can really do.

Take the tour. Check out Goulding's lodge, and the exhibits there.

if you go to the visitor center in monument valley you pay the entrance fee they tell you that you cant drive your motorcycle down in to valley floor on the dirt road. other that that you can ride all the roads around in the area including the Mokee Dugway which was really cool.

I have found the hotels in the area to be rather expensive, you have to pay to play.
Just got back from a 6,000 mile tour of the west from Michigan. Stayed in Kanab, Utah at the Rodeway Inn for $80 a night with pool and spa.Bryce Canyon 60 mi. North and Zion 30 mins North.
