Sprint definitely has the worst coverage in the area, and Verizon the best. Sprint is painfully bad. It's kinda nice - my phone doesn't ring much. 😁

You're golden in Rapid City. Out in the hills, good luck. But, no issues at all in Rapid.

I travel more than the average bear on these forums (or anywhere on the planet, really), and I have zero issues with Sprint. There are only about 4 places in the US that I've had issues. It might not work well in Death Valley, but I don't go there much these days.

Sprint's associated secondary carriers such as Boost Mobile do not have cell/data coverage within the area.
Also, text is hit and miss.

So if you're traveling in the area make sure you plan ahead.

We travel to the Black Hills every summer and switched to Boost Mobile last fall not realizing there's no coverage in SD, WY, MT or ND.
We'll be switching carriers when we get back home.
Just rode 6,000 miles out west from Michigan. Camped in the Black hills using Verizon. No problems!! Found that to be true most anywhere I went. S.D, UT, WYO, CO,. Some iffy spots out in the Great Plains of Wyoming but then again there is nothing out THERE for miles!!

It doesn’t matter if a carrier has coverage. When 300,000 plus users show up, all the networks will be saturated and you won’t be able to make/take a call. We found that if we wanted to make a call, early in the AM, worked best.

Great info, and one more reason for me to dump Sprint. Coverage keeps getting worse and worse....heading towards Verizon.
