Banff Loop

Ainsworth hotsprings is great and hotel / motels not overly expensive. A little further north is a nice camp ground at Wood bury. Just a little ways up from the Balfour ferry terminal. In fact you could do a hotsprings tour on the approximate route you are planning. There are two in Nakusp area, as well as Banff and someone mentioned Miette. Also ghost towns and old mining camps are numerous in the Kootenays if you know where but many not so easy to get to with a bike. I you go to Revelstoke in a day you will have to miss a lot.

Thanks to everyone for the info and suggestions. Vernal, I had found the Biker Retreat, but I think you may have talked me into it. I will not have to set up and break camp. Looks nice and the reviews are good. Just need to pick up a steak and go cook it. Thanks Miner, I really would like to soak in some hot springs at least once on the trip.

Toad Rock, http://www.toadrockcampground.com/about-toad-rock/ is just 4 miles from Ainsworth hot springs. Everyone I've met has recommended this place.
