Another great road trip. A few days in Estes Park, then Buena Vista, Ouray, Pagosa Springs and Trinidad on the way home. We decided to go home the quickest way. Never again. Temps Friday from noon to seven in the evening in TX were 105-112 on my bike. It was brutal. A little rain headed up through Oklahoma, other than that great weather.

Yes Colorado has some wonderful roads for motorcycling. The wife and I went there a few years ago and traveled all over the west side of the state. We traveled the wonderful US 70 to Rocky Mountain National Park. I absolutely loved the ride on Trail Ridge Road. It is amongst the most beautiful roads to ride. We also went up to the top of Mount Evans, which is the highest paved road in North America. Did Pikes Peak too. Stopped in Durango for the train ride. So glad we did. The Million Dollar highway and so many more to ride and see in Colorado. We want to go back some day.

We had planned to do Mt. Evans. I rode up it last year. I heard it was closed half way up.

The train in Durango is shut down. We have both done the train and it is a great trip. The virus may have got the train to start with, but there is a big washout or something on the tracks that they have to repair.

I did ride a few new roads this trip. We did Peak to Peak on our way into RMNP and also added the Silver Thread Scenic Byway from South Fork to Gunnison. Both really nice rides.

Thank you for visiting our Colorful Colorado. Can't imagine living anyplace else. Lift a prayer these fires raging in our great state can be gone soon. No rain in sight.

One of the best kept secrets in Colorado.
It and from Delta to Carbondale going 133 along North Fork Gunnison River through Hotchkiss, Paonia, McClure Pass, Redstone.

Add Poudre Canyon from Ft. Collins

Nice stable there. We could see the smoke everywhere, but it never got bad where we were at. As I-70 was closed, it caused problems elsewhere.

There is going to be a really big fire there one day with all the dead pine trees due to the pine beatles. Lots of places in RMNP where there are hardly any living trees.

We did go up to Independence pass one afternoon. While we were there an 18 wheeler came by. Then we heard he was stuck before we left the summit.

The next morning we rode up to Cottonwood Pass. We were going to turn around and go back down. Then we talked to another rider and he told us about the road. We went on over the pass and rode to Crested Butte and then on to Gunnison. Really beautiful road, brand new. We were told it has just been paved. We heard they closed that pass as well to keep the trucks out.

When we rode the Silver Thread and came out at Gunnison, you couldn't hardly get close to a gas pump due to all the traffic on Hwy 50. I think all I-70 traffic was detoured that way. It was really busy.

Oh, and I would love to move there.
