Texas heat will kick your *** if you're not used to it. I work out in it, so I'm used to it, but my question is this....

Why in the hell would you be riding in the afternoon during a heat wave? I understand trying to get home, but even tho I'm used to the heat if I'm traveling in it I try to hit it between 5am and noon, and be off the bike by then...that gives you 7 hrs of riding, most of it before it starts to get hot....

We left CO at seven that morning. Trying to get home. I love it out west, but when you head home it is a two or three day ride.

For those who may be considering a late summer western ride....beware!
Snow comes early in the higher elevations.

Thanks for visiting my state. There is such incredible beauty here and looking at the mountains everyday is majestic and peaceful. I was born and raised in Texas and will have a tap root in the Lone Star state, but Colorado is a wonderland. Suppose to be in the 70's here next week....and I've yet to meet a cockroach here.

Headed back to Buena Vista Sunday with a friend and his Bronco. The first Bronco Driver Magazine Super Celebration West. They have been having SC in Townsend, TN for a number of years. Plan to take his this year and mine next year.
