I like Smokehouse at Steve's.
My BBQ plans for April, meet up if you can.
April 4 - Grady's in Dudley
April 5 - Caino's in Hubert (might substitute Shepard in Emerald Isle, or Thig's in Jacksonville)
April 6 - Rick's in Oriental
April 7 - probably Wilber's in Goldsboro, but maybe Marty's in Wilson

Public service announcement, Beach BBQ run in 3 weeks. Attend any or all. We have some room at our house in Emerald Isle for those that want to stay there. For those that have been missing him, Cosmic Razorback and Carolina Girl plan to attend the whole time. I'm also trying to arrange special guest appearance by Lincoln Infield, editor extraordinaire of Carolinas Full Throttle Magazine. Places of interest on the tour will include Bulldog HD in Smithfield on Thursday, New River HD in Jacksonville on Friday and Beaufort waterfront on Saturday, with option to visit Royal James Cafe. PM me if interested.

Shame on me. No good pictures. I was so busy chatting up a rider that I didn’t get a pic of my lunch at Redneck BBQ Lab at MacGees Crossroads.
I ordered the Tuesday special which I thought was just Burnt Ends and sides.
It was burnt ends, AND jalapeńo and cheese smoked sausage. I normally only order sausage with breakfast.
But OMG. It was WONDERFUL. So you NC boys who get by this way, get you some! I was the first bike in, but not the last bike out.

Had a great time this weekend doing a Beach BBQ Run. Cosmic Razorback, Carolina Girl, Notgrownup and Mrs. Notgrownup were in attendance, along with my wife. We planned to hit 4 or maybe 5 BBQ joints at the NC coast. But Carolina Girl said "don't they have any seafood around here?" So we substituted seafood Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights. We ate BBQ at Grady's in Dudley (Wayne County), Caino's in Hubert (Onslow) and Rick's in Oriental (Pamlico). Weather was on the cool side, and windy but no rain. Besides seafood and BBQ stops, we went to waterfront in Emerald Isle, Swansboro, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach and Beaufort. We also stopped at Jarrett Bay Boatworks. I plan to have my next boat built there. (assuming I win the PowerBall) An overall great weekend.

Fat man at Pig Pin BBQ Mebane
A "new-to-me" BBQ joint. I was searching for BBQ online when I stumbled upon Fat man and his food at the pig pin
So off I went.
Located in a bowling alley, with pool tables, video games and more, it makes for an al day family outing.
First impressions were a bit worrisome as the gal behind the counter asked if I wanted "extra sauce" on my bridket.
My introduction to brisket MANY years ago was if you screw up, bring out the sauce, so asking about EXTRA sauce, for brisket raises my alert system
Thankfully no EXTRA sauce, or for that matter ANY sauce was needed. a good bake, nice smoke ring, and a good tug, proved the brisket was very good.
Other than being downtown Mebane, I worked out a good ride to and fro
STUPID riser screwed up (operator error) but 150+ mile loop avoiding as much civilization as possible, and if it was a bit warmer I could have turned at several intersections and stopped at Maple View for ice cream
