I've got a buddy who lives up in the panhandle north of Coeur d'Alene ( outside Sagle ) and it is beautiful country ... He also has a place on Lake Pend Oreille :>)

Did you stop at Craters of the Moon NP? After that, the panhandle is where it's at.

I came back through WA, OR and ID on my way back from AK in 2000.
It is some beautiful scenery in the summer months but I'd bet that it can get a bit cool during the other seasons.

You should take a week or so, and do the whole state. It is a regular destination for us on week-plus rides. Idaho is truly awesome.

Yes it is ,done it many times out here in the west, highway 12 is great in it's entirety really ,I've done from South Dakota as far as the Pacific Ocean in Washington.
Lolo is great but so is the ride between Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier here in Washington.
