I don't have a map here but here's a suggestion. From the top of the BRP (near Harrisonburg VA) I would ride Rt 33 into WV, maybe to Seneca Rocks. Then turn back and take 28 to Rt 250. There are other roads connecting 33 to 250 near Brandywine and Sugar Grove. They're nice too. Plus you'll ride right past WV's Naval Base. Yep we got a Naval Base there in the middle of nowhere!
Then ride 250 east/south into VA. You can ride all the way into Staunton and ride south to Rt 39, or take one of the small VA 600 county roads (like 678 near McDowell) south to 39. Then ride 39 through Goshen Pass and on into WV to Marlington. From there you'll want to ride The Scenic Highway 155, it really doesn't go anywhere but it's OK. Also take 219 up to Snowshoe then 66 down to Cass and Rt 28/92.

A couple things.....Ride the old road down under the New River bridge. It's at the visitor center on the north side of the bridge. Further south on Rt 19 take the Glen Jean exit (north of Beckley) and Rt 25 to the ghost town of Thurmond. Thurmond was once a thriving community where a *lot* of freight passed through. Now it's nothing, but there's a federal visitor center. Probably because of Robert Byrd .
Be warned, do *not* speed on 19 in Summersville or Fayetteville. If the limit is 50, 51 will get you a ticket. Personally I boycott the area, I'll pass through but never stop there, even for gas. I'm not aware of any other speed trap areas like these anywhere else in WV.

What part of VA/WV are you planning to ride into dc1503? The Shenandoah Valley or South Western VA?
Both offer some great roads, SW VA has alot more twisties.

If you're going near Summersville and Fayetteville, stop at Ernie's Rib Pit. Great eats, reasonable prices and a boat load of atmosphere. Check out the money on the walls and the college t-shirts on the ceiling.

You might want to look into the Cass area in Pocohantas County.
Great diversion from riding, and the scenery is great as well.

While your on skyline get off at Luray and go to the caverns. they are one of the best sights in the area. I also think they are the deepest or oldest or somthing like that. any way they have an organ that plays music by using hammars on the Stalagtites. pretty cool stuff.
