Motels In Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid Area
Easy enough to find a motel room up there, without a reservation? A few of us decided to take a spin for the weekend. We'll need 4 rooms.

Maybe easy, but it's going to be expensive (high season, resort area). You may want to consider going to Plattsburg. Just remember that it gets very dark there, critters come out, and it may be hard to find shelter at night.
