Default First Long Solo Trip

I will be leaving North Texas on the 25th of July heading to Minnesota. The first day I plan on 625 miles to Jeff City, MO. (spending the night with borther- in- law). From there I plan on riding over to the Mississippi river & ride the great river roads North. In Minnesota, I plan on riding the West coast of lake Superior to Silver Bay then over to Ely. After Ely, I will ride over to Grand Forks, ND then head South back home.

Can anyone tell me what shape the river roads are in after the floods. Are their areas I need to avoid. Also, any must see locations along the way.

Thanks for any help & advice..

lots of high water and messed up roads over along the Missouri river but along the Mississippi in Iowa I don't think you will have much trouble. if you want to make time instead of riding hwy. 61 north take hwy. 218 the avenue of the saints.
